Hawthorne, Nevada

We are now setting in Hawthorne, Nevada and the temperature is 84. Or is was earlier this afternoon.  It has been beautiful the last few days, since we left Oregon.  I am more than ready for the warm weather.
Yesterday we left Eureka and drove across the coast range into the central valley of California, in the sunshine and blue skies.  It was really nice to see the fresh green on the trees.  And hear the birds singing.  We stayed the night in Sacramento and was a very warm 90 degrees.   Love it.
Today we went across more mountains, Donner Pass is over  7,000 feet and Hawthorne is above 4,000.  Big change from 10 feet above sea level.  We even saw some snow along side of the road.
The first picture is of Donner Pass just before you get into Nevada.
This is Smokey, waiting for us to get back into the truck.

And this is Mocha.  They do like to look out the windows.
We head for Las Vegas tomorrow where we will stay for a day, then on to the Grand Canyon.  We are finally making some progress, but slowly.
The cats are finally settling down in the truck.  But they do have to complain and comment on everything for the first hour or so.  That might get better as they get more use to it.  They do love being in the trailer when we stop for the night.
That is all for now. Til later.
